Planning and Zoning

The Planning and Zoning Division is responsible for guiding the growth and development of the community in a coordinated and sustainable manner. Their key functions include:

  1. Comprehensive Planning: Developing and updating the city’s master plan to shape land use, transportation, housing, and community development strategies.
  2. Zoning Regulations: Creating and enforcing zoning ordinances that regulate land use, building heights, setbacks, and other development standards to ensure orderly growth.
  3. Permitting and Approvals: Reviewing and approving development proposals, building permits, and special use requests to ensure compliance with zoning laws.
  4. Development Review: Evaluating new construction projects, subdivisions, and land developments for consistency with community goals and zoning codes.
